Not to spam, but I really felt like sharing a new band I discovered after a buddy of mine saw their show. I had a listen to their new album and I really think they've got great potential. A bit of early Genesis, Gentle Giant, Jhetro Tull ishh... Look them up, I thought they sound really good. |

thanks for the submission Porcupine_cookie - sounds really good
btw - according to our policy the band is not 'unsigned' because their album is on sale - at least at CD Baby |

Another thread about the band, interesting.
They are in the PA database: HALF PAST FOUR I bought their album last year, after liking some of their myspace songs, but was disappointed and even after repeated listening I couldn't get into it. I also didn't find it too progressive. However, many seem to really like them, so... Edited by avestin - December 09 2009 at 17:53 |

Oh cool, thanks guys. yeah we are already on this site and do have a cd out on CD baby.
Sorry Avestin that you were disappointed. As was probably discussed a gazillion times before on Progarchives, 'Progressive' is a very subjective term. Too many 'progressive' bands now days are clones of older progressive bands, but remember that the originals (KC, Yes, Genesis, etc.) didn't have much prog rock to be influenced by or sound like, they built on top of non-prog music and improved it. This is how we try to compose, so please forgive us if a few songs sound unlike Dream theater or Gentle Giant.

That is definitely not what I meant, why would you put words in my mouth and assume to know what I meant? You couldn't be more way off. I just said, that it doesn't sound progressive to me. Nice rock music, with some above average appeal and sophistication but not progressive (if you look at threads I post and reviews I write, you'll see that your remark was way off, and my approach toward defining progressive music and rock is far from what you assume it to be. Or was it a response that was made because I am not a fan of your music?). This is the reason I didn't write a review for your album when you guys sent me a request to do so by a PM here in PA in December 2008 (still have that PM). In any case, I'm glad for your that your band is doing well and that you have fans. Edited by avestin - December 10 2009 at 13:52 |

Avestin, No dispespect meant whatsoever. I respect your opinion and was only stating my thinking regarding you mentioning the term 'progressive'. I was trying to give an example of a current trend that I've noticed in modern prog music. Thanks for clarifying further what you meant.
In addition, I really appreciate the fact that you expressed your opinion about Half Past Four, as it helps us understand who to target with our music. |

Thanks for responding and clearing that up.
In all honesty, I'm happy for the band to have fans and wish you success. I don't have to like your music (I don't hate it either) to recognize the quality of your band; it's just not "clicking" with me, that's all. All the best! |
