Prog, by nature, is an album length experience, but that didn't stop the odd progger to try their hand at a hit single, in the 'classic' era at least. Even Egg, the Hatfields and King Crimson gave it a shot (or two) with their own very individual seven-inch takes.

Not counting bands who simplified their sound / dumbed-down their sound / completely sold out (pick one) for more mass acceptance, or those who just put out a single for the novelty of it all, what would you think are the best genuine prog singles put out by a prog band looking for singles chart success, but while still keeping their prog cred intact?

The most commercially successful one?
Off the top of my head, I'm guessing Yes' Roundabout. My favorite? Torn between King Crimson's Cat Food and Egg's Seven Is A Jolly Good Time.

I remember Hocus Pocus getting some airplay at the time.  This was a few years before I became a prog addict.  Carry On Wayward Son and Dust In The Wind are still good despite their radio overexposure.
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...
