"When Dream and Day Unite" is without a doubt their worst album when speaking in terms of the production quality, but this debut has to be one of my favorites in terms of musicality and themes.  Songs like "Ytse Jam" and "The Killing Hand" are Dream Theater classics!

My vote was for "Falling Into Eternity" (I just never got into it).
"We are Defenders of the Faith"

"Falling" does it for me.  When Moore left, I suppose the group thought they could cover things up by doing pop songs.  It doesn't work.

Perhaps the ones forced on them by the record company.

Which are? You not me? Take away my Pain? Only 2 out of 11 songs are pop songs?

Those were on my mind, I'm just guessing what nahnite might mean Wink

Though I agree that Falling is probably their weakest. Despite the absolutely brilliant Trial of Tears.

Hmm, well I very much like the songs on WDaDU, but I strongly dislike the vocalist over there, so I will pick that one - The Killing Hand is a very good DT song, but I prefer LaBrie's Live at the Marquee version to the album version...Smile

I think quite opposite.  I think Images & Words is their only decent album.

The rest of their discography is an atrocity to music and an embarrassment to my intelligence.

Well, reading thru this it seems that people are quite passionate about DT! Like it or hate it, and it seems like everybody has their favorite and their worst. Interesting poll.

Personally, my favorite is TOT. yeah, somewhat going against the flow.

As for their worst, don't have their WDaDU, so I will vote for FII. Strangely enough everytime I listen to FII, I find it somewhat decent, but the fact is I rarely listen to it.

Dude, you destroyed the good image I have for you... I only forgive you because of your avatar, which is nice... but really... you did seem like you knew about music... but at last you don't... well...

Train Of Thought. Can't listen to more than 3 tunes on that album.
