Anathema new album?

   When I saw Anathema live with Porcupine Tree in 2007, they were about to come out with their new album.

Rumours confirmed on stage talked about:
1) a double cd
2) produced by Steve Wilson
3) all the recordings ready, the album couldn't come out due to distribution delays, so the band decided to tour to promote the forecoming album.
4) 3 mp3s and a whole tracklist were available on their website.

Now, two years later, nothing new on Anathema's front. An acoustic album has been released, but no new material. 2 years. What has happened? Are they alive?

A friend of mine, a former fanzine journalist, who happened to interview them many years ago, guessed that they were too lazy and messy and they couldn't get a contract from a label. He was joking, but how much?
