Yes!

O'er on the King Crimson website, there is an announcement. I suppose it could have been announced elsewhere...but I frequent there. Tongue I'll be sure not to miss it this time 'round.

Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

I got in quite early after reading about Jakko and really enjoying his work with '21st.CENTURY SCHIZOID BAND ' who I still love . Also, Dick Heath has had a lot of very positive things to say about Jakko and TBRGC which is a real pointer to the quality here.[ There are probably some older threads lying fallow somewhere around here, but this release shouldn't ].

It's a great double album of original and re-interpreted Canterbury favourites and for those who are into thoughtful, passionate and deeper meaning progressive music with great players involved, this should not be missed. This release and Jakko Jakszyk deserve every bit of plaudits each gets. Pick it up .
Looking still the same after all these years...

Jakko has been doing some sterling work mixing albums. I see the 1978 recordings of Holdsworth, Danny Thompson (who is on Bruised Romantic GC) and John Stevens (Propensity) has been released in last few weeks in the USA, however, with Jakko mixing it in 1996!!!! Last time I spoke with him, he said he was involved in  a long term project mixing some live recordings of Rapid Eye Movement with Dave Stewart and Jakko. Bruised Romantic GC is mature progressive music on the first album - very Jakko - and the second CD of the set, as mentioned, is his own tribute/interpretation  to both Canterbury and Crimson. The whole album has a veritable who's who of the prog rock movement.
The best eclectic music on the Web,8-11pm BST/GMT THURS.

I really really want to hear those Rapid Eye Movement recordings.

I have BRGC from emusic, I'll have to spin that again soon.

To pick up on one of Dick's points above, my ears were pricked when I read about the release of ' Propensity' . It sounds like an awesome trio with Danny Thompson, a favourite double bass player of mine . With the benefit of some help from reviews, I think I'll be picking that one up, made all the better for Jakko's work behind the scenes.

Double pricking of ears for the REM live mixes Dick has mentioned that Jakko has been involved with. Nice to see valuable older material being brought back to life . There seems to be quite a lot of it about these days which is great imo.

Also, good to see Jakko's iclusion here on PA and the great profile provided . For those who may be saying to themselves, who is this Jakko bloke, have a read of that profile and you'll soon get a handle on his ' credentials' which are outstanding imo . A great, albeit underappreciated talent.
Looking still the same after all these years...
