Customer service is a hard thing, but sometimes you really have to wonder where people's minds are at.
For those who can read Swedish: http://www.aftonbladet.se/nyheter/article4039966.ab - even if you don't understand the language, take a look at the pictures - they do tell more than a thousand words. As for the story: A guy manage to buy the car of his dreams after saving up for years and years. After getting the car imported to Sweden, he gets the car transported to a rather large firm for some basic service - oil change and a check on the brakes. The car isn't registered yet (no license plates - which makes it kinda visible and obvious), but even so the owner tells the service shop to not drive the car. It's a small job, and he stays in the firm's lunching department to eat some food while this small task is dealt with. Half an hour later representatives of the firm can tell him that the car has been crashed - in fact totalled - by a mechanic and his trainee. He's offered a rental car to get home, but not much more at that point. There's an insurance case following this, and the owner of course gets the money to buy a new car - the service shop's claims that the owner never told them that the car wasn't registered for driving weren't given much credibility to put it like that. And now, a few months later, the service shop sends out a bill to this guy whose car they wrecked. They claim they did the job they were asked to do, and have charged the guy for change of oil and brakes on the car they wrecked. Customer service is a difficult thing to deal with, and in this case it seems like the firm in question has a bit of learning to do, don't ya think? |
