 Topic: The clock...

Why are we now in central time? We used to be eastern time, (US format), now we're in central time in the clock here in PA! I see when the updates to posts have been done, and I'm confused!! 
(not that it HAS to be eastern standard timer but... hey, let's not fix what wasn't broken...  ) |

Just a suggestion, but would it not be better to set the clock to GMT? Virtually all time zones are shown globally in relation to GMT.

As I said, just a suggestion (for an improvement). It seems to me that people world wide are familair with GMT as it is the time zone on which all others are based. People are less familiar with local time zones for other areas.

I have enough problems working out my local time relative to GMT as it is, (noon arrives at 12:03:54 here), however working out my local time offset from forum time is the same regardless of what the local forum time is.
I guess this was a Day Light Saving issue - what we need to do is synchronise the whole World to switch to DLS on the same day, that way we don't have to adjust the offset four times each year. Better still, scrap it completely.

I don't see why not - If you put your clocks forward when we out ours back and vice versa

Maybe all timestamps can be converted to the user's time zone by means of a JavaScript method...

There is an option in profiles to adjust the timestamp to your time. It is near the bottom of the profile set up.
