hi, Im new to the site and after some help,   Im after contact details of decent venues available for a prog rock band who are currently touring, based in the north west. I would be grateful for any information you could offer. thanks mat

I'm a bit confused. You say in your title the North West of the UK, which would be the sparsely populated areas of North West Scotland and the Hebrides.
 
Is it North West England you mean (i.e. Manchester, Liverpool etc).?

Bury: The Met...IQ play there quite a bit
Crewe: Limelight (as already mentioned)
Rotherham: Herringthorpe Leisure centre (via the Classic Rock Society)
Sheffield: Boardwalk
 
unless of course, Bob is right, and you were thinking of supporting Runrig on a wet Friday night in downtown Tobermory...Wink

I apologise , I meant north west as in the chorley, preston, manchester area. thanks for the venues posted will contact them soon. cheers
