Prog Fan!

Progarchives.com is proud to announce a new strategic alliance with Muse-Wrapped Records!  This alliance will help all of you around the world gain access to more and more music in your favorite genre: prog rock.

Progarchives.com is part of a revolution - the progression of the progressive music industry.  And as we continue to serve you, this alliance will strengthen that industry, making it better for you - the progressive rock fan!

With this alliance, Progarchives.com will:
  • cement our position as THE BEST PROG ROCK ONLINE RESOURCE
  • increase our visibility and notoriety: a result of the marketing impact of the alliance
  • increase our content, since we will gain access to more and more contacts and content
  • help unknown artists get listened to and known
  • help prog fans discover a lot of new music
With this alliance, Muse-Wrapped Records will:
  • Reach more and more artists and labels, proposing to them that they digitize their titles and protect their copyright with Microsoft-based DRM technology
  • Allow both new and known artists to create "1-song wonders" and digitize them: imagine YES or VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR creating a new song, using Muse-Wrapped Records to record it, and Progarchives.com to promote it!
  • Muse-Wrapped Records will intensify its position as the ONE STOP for Prog Rock digital content downloads (songs, full albums, videos and more).  This will further intensify the power of the Progarchives.com forums and its well-structured discography website as the ONE STOP for Prog Rock information (news, reviews, biographies, opinions, music samples and more)
Here is the press release of the announcement:

MORE ENTERTAINMENT OPTIONS FOR PROGRESSIVE MUSIC FANS
Muse-Wrapped Records, LLC, a progressive music label and digital distributor, and Progarchives.com, provider of news and information systems catering to independent music labels and artists, announced today that the firms have reached a definitive agreement for a new marketing partnership.

The two companies will join forces to form a “comprehensive one-stop” for protected progressive music downloads, reviews, advertising and communications services.

Muse-Wrapped Records will provide Microsoft-based DRM technology and delivery systems with enterprise-level content management, as well as its own roster of artists. Progarchives.com will leverage its existing relationships with artists & fans to create a natural A&R, distribution, and communications pipeline.

“We are already benefiting from heavy investment in global delivery infrastructure. It is a vision for creating a vibrant and profitable economy for a genre that has been without major support for almost 3 decades,” according to Muse-Wrapped Records General Manager, Trent Gardner.  “Educating artists about retaining their digital distribution rights is a major initiative. We are stunned that even many veteran artists routinely sign away these rights, even when labels have no effective digital distribution or artist development strategies. “

“Currently, progressive music labels and independent artists are struggling to survive in a niche market ridden with illegal downloads and less than optimum marketing options. They must be frugal with their limited budgets. Our venture makes it possible for these clients to get the largest marketing reach and number of consumer impressions at the best price. We can reach tens of thousands of fans about new releases in nearly real time and at a reasonable cost,” says Maxime Roy, co-founder of Progarchives. It’s a “rifle shot to the target audience with measurable and quantifiable results vs. a hit and miss approach.  That’s the difference.”

Through the deployment of their Microsoft-based platforms, it is hoped that fans will be the ultimate winners. Muse-Wrapped Records will provide an ecommerce and DRM-enabled distribution channel, while Progarchives will provide advertisers with a level of marketing services not previously possible, giving fans more entertainment options than ever before. The goal is to improve the economy of the genre as a whole and spread these effects into other untapped markets. This is viewed as the best chance to inspire creators of this complex music to “keep creating even more ambitious works.”  "Our delivery systems are built with the ability to handle every song ever recorded... and much more."

With a joint customer list in over 100 countries, the new partnership will introduce innovative methods for artists, labels and fans to maximize their stakes in the music. This will include providing album pre-release services, exclusive artist offers and sound recordings, new payment technologies to improve transactional efficiencies, and the most up-to-date reviews and insider news.
