Some quick impressions:
La giostra - weird waltz like track, that is somehow not exactly 3/4 beats, and contains some weird noises (an emulated violin, a cat, a duck hunting whistle, ....) Palestina - not surprisingly has a middle eastern feel to it, with a repeating guitar riff over it until a nice, but not spectaculare solo starts. Sort of psychedelic, but too repetitive for my taste Maria nella bottega - dark, marching intro - and vocals for the first time. It's dark and easily the best of the four tracks on MySpace La Scuola di Liberta - bit of a post rock intro (or at least, it reminds me of Krobak), followed by interleaved mellow and heavy guitars. Again quite repetitive, and with manipulated vocals. I skipped through to the end, it's not my thing. They seem to have a demo CD out, maybe we'll here more about them in the future. It's not my style of music, and although it reminds me of the mellower Krobak parts in some places, I'm not sure if this is post rock, or progressive psychedelic, or .... However, as this is likely a matter of taste - someone else may shine a different light on this. Edited by Angelo - March 19 2008 at 16:57 |
