Always great to have a Muse thread There are some prog tracks on this album definetely.Megolomania and Space Dementia spring to mind.I love Muse but people here get a bit hot under the collar when

As good a time as any to ask: what should I start with to get acquainted with Muse? I have not heard a single track by the band (that I know of) and there's been enough talk about 'em that I feel I may be missing something.

Some prog elements indeed. I never thought about Muse a progressive band. However I like them very much. Their latest cd 'Absolution' rocks.

I've liked the odd bits of Muse that I've heard - are there many mp3 samples on the web (apart from the crappy 30 second long Amazon.com ones, that is)?

yea there are www.muse.mu thats the official site, they let you listen to all the songs on all the albums. generous fellas they are :) check out Origin Of Symmetry if you want

they're a damn good band. If they had more albums as awesome as Origin of symmetry, i bet they'd be considered prog.....but still my favorite band by far.

Muse are the nearest thing you're gonna get to prog bruising the singles chart and getting onto the cover of the NME (they got them fooled). Similar in approach (not always sound) to Queen having a Grandiose sound and occasionally horizonta

Whether they are Prog or not (I think they are, and Rick Wakeman agrees with me) their performance at Glastonbury last year was astounding. Actually the best gig I've ever seen on TV.

The gig at earls court was even sweeter then glastonbury.....and Glastonbury was damn good heh :)
