Avant prog band from Tunisia inspired by Wyatt, Can, The Mars Volta but also Punk and Psychedelia...

That blog contains great pictures, too bad for most the texts are in French...
Listening to them right now.

Weird music, but certainly worth sampling - especially since the singer apparently not only uses his voice, but also a vocoder and shamanism to get his message across. I don't like the high screaming bits in a.o. Silentium Post Clamores, but that's not a matter of taste.
Requires some getting used to, but definitely worth sampling for Avant and maybe also post rock or psychedelic fans.

Any more info about this band and their plans is welcome - anyone who's sufficiently fluid in French (a native speaker perhaps?) who feels like contacting the band for some background and possible future release plans?

EDIT: while checking their MySpace page, this is possibly the only band who mention Nelson Mandela as one of their influences...

Listening to this now, it has some mixed influences in there (including some jazz) but I sense avant will fit this just fine.
I'll contact the band (I'm half-French, a mud-blood of sorts...).

a german documentary has been made about this band and the tunisian context where they've been raised. A trailer of this work is broadcasted on their crew's blog (dadalabs) http://dadalabs.blogspot.com

I downloaded their demo, it wasn't bad.

Fit for the site? Probably. Avant would do. (Or...Kraut?)

Actually I think they consider themselves Psychedelic.

Nice feedback guys - I'll check out the documentary.
Inclusion in the site requires a released album, but we've got an eye out for them, Shakespeare.
