OK I admit I have been asleep on the job for nigh 6 years. I had heard of this group but never paid much attention. Now I see a DVD is on sale at a really good price so I come to PA to find out more, and they are not here! I read the discussions about how they are a tribute band so can't be included, and have few original songs.
Let me just say that as a 16 year old discovering the original incarnation of KC in 1975, it was clear to me from the album credits that the leader of this group had to be Ian McDonald, who exclusively wrote the music for 2 of the 3 best songs and had an equal hand in the other 3, not to mention playing flute and keyboards which dominated most of the album. . I would not even have put Fripp second. Sure he played guitar, but other than in Shizoid Man (which I hated as a kid but love now), that doesn't predominate. So this is really the original KC reformed in many ways, not a tribute band. I would love to hear new material in the early KC style, if that's at all possible.
