Topic: Megadeth and Black Sabbath w/ Dio in Chic Posted: May 10 2007 at 18:23 |
it was at the Allstate arena on may 5th, not a great venue for a metal concert, but not bad. Machine head was the first opener, and they were a crappy growling metal band with no talent. Then Megadeth played, they were really tight and awesome, but Dave didn't really acknowledge the crowd very much because they didn't have very long to play. They played 9 songs I think, including 'hangar 18' which was kickass, and a few others from RIP, and KIMBABIG. They didn't play any songs of Risk though, which was dissapointing.
Then Black Sabbath played and they were awesome. Dio's voice sounded amazing. They played mostly songs from Heaven and Hell, and a few from Mob Rules, including 'sign of the southern cross' which was really cool. Dio interacted with the crowd a lot and that was cool to see. They didn't play any Ozzy era BS, but thats ok, I didn't really expect them to. They closed with 'neon knights'. Anyway it was a kickass show
