 Topic: CD or LP track listing?

I noticed that some albums have track listings taken from LPs, with division on side A and side B, although there are CD reissues of them, whilst other albums have CD track listings. Shouldn't we stick to one convention?

I am not aware the site has such a standard .... my preference is for CD format but some could argue for it to be presented in the format it was originally released

It's not very difficult to predict from the LP track list how the tracks go on the CD, so I think it would be a nice extra info to know which track starts the vinyl version B-side. If there are deviationg track orders, then they could be listed separatelly?

As long as the tracks are listed in the correct order, it doesn't really matter if the A/B split is shown or not.
Where the order varies between the formats, it is best if both are shown, or a comment made of what the differences are.

Yeah, that's why we have this field "release details" where you can give details on different versions of a release, including any different track order or bonus tracks, if any. When adding albums, I prefer the original release (vinyl or CD) order, but in case of LP vinyls I don't normally separate A and B sides.

I have noticed that too,but I don't think it's too big a deal.Like Easy said,as long as the tracks are listed in the right order everything should be fine.
I prefer to use track listings from CD's though.

I think that CD track listings ought to be used when albums are or have
been avaliable on CD. If an album hasn't been reissued on CD, there
isn't a CD tracklisting for it, hence the LP track listing (divided
into Side A and Side B, and possibly more sides) should be used.
