for years now I have been trying to find again a song (guitar & voice) which was once (i am talking woodstock-album time) released on some rock collection album of which i do not recall the title. It was very short (less than 2 minutes?) and had the following, quite remarkable words as lyrics (or even title) "if an apple loves an orange". I would be so pleased if somebody out there knows title, singer, album or even has the mp3! Thx.

Sounds like Al Stewart's "A small fruit song". Goes something like "Said the apple to the orange, all I want is you to come close to me and love me to the core. Then you might know me like no other orange has ever done before" (off the top of my head!).

I think it's on the CBS sampler, "Fill your head with rock".

THIS IS SO GREAT!! You have really done me a very big favour. Imagine that for years on end I regulary remembered this missing piece of favoured (personal) history which I than regretted. I have so many times mentioned this to people but - also possibly because of the lack of detail - never got the info. The album I copied on tape about 25 years ago, lost the tape, never saw the owner of the album again (indeed: fill your head with rock. Now I remember!). Thanks to internet and your very much appreciated gesture, I have the mp3 and got back some valuable moments of the past.
If I can do something for you in return, do not hesitate.
Regards, DJ
