When I was a very little kid Betamax ruled the world, then came VHS took over, now the DVD, I wonder what the future holds for DVDs, now there's the tommorow's formats, HD DVD and Blu Ray could this be the second war of video formats, first one was Betamax vs VHS.

I still have a working Sony Beta HiFi deck, It is one of my most favorite out of all of my electronics that I have in my collection. Every once in awhile I'll pop in my Rush "Exit Stage Left" tape to watch. Thumbs Up

The best format is coming and it's HDDVD. No doubts. But there will be war of formats definitely (HDDVD vs. Blu-Ray) so apparently one of them will come to wide application in 5-6 years. So, don't bother yourself and keep buying DVDs, they still will be looking good on HDTV (backward compatible and all that stuff).

And I wish this idiotic war between SACD and DVD-Audio would stop.

And by the way, the best way of movie experience is theatres. Big wide screen and awesome powerful sound.
