Is there need to list this album twice......the only difference is the title. It should be combined as in the title of this thread.

You're probably right. However, I don't know how to move ratings, so I'll have to contact one of the admins.

My own view here is that it should be listed twice. I appreciate that it is the same album with two titles, but Progarchives is intended to be a complete reference resource. People do not know that it is the same album, and who try to look it up here will simply think we have missed it out if they cannot see it under the title they are seeking.

For example, if we delete "Live in the USA", and someone wants to see reviews of it, how will they know to look at "Cook" instead?

What do others think?

Simply list it as "Live in The USA" ("Cook").

I'd prefer them listed separately, as at present, with a note under each that links the two. Apart from the different album name they had different LP covers, and this way visitors can see that.

List it as "Live in the USA/ Cook" and show both covers. As it is now both these identicle albums have two places in the Italian symph charts. This is plainly ridiculous.

Well, the site does not currently support multiple covers for the same album, as far as I know. But I'll relay your request to M@X via a PM.

Yes I know, its a problem, and I'm not sure it can be solved. It could also help for other bands with 2 versions of covers.......like Yes' fist two.

BTW, sometimes there are more than 2 versions of covers.

Hi guys.

I think we need to limit the number of differents entries for an album that is "mostly" similar.

Here is a list of album details that should be unique entry:

  • Same album , different country
  • Same album , different cover
  • Same album, remastered edition
  • Same album, special edition
  • Same album, released on CD, DVD-AUDIO , etc..
Some notes needs to be add to the LABEL/RELEASES INFO when submitting or re-organising.

Please comments here!

Max

I can go for that M@x. As NotAProghead suggested, the album title should where possible reflect the alternate names when these exist.

Before duplicates are removed, a check will need to be made for reviews of that album, and those reviews relocated.
