Why does P.A. not have him listed? I don't see how he isn't atleast prog related. Odd time signatures, an assortment of instruments, and hes a damn poet for chrissake.

Anyone else agree he should be atleast prog related?Tongue

Yes, I posted about Sufjan in another thread and I think he's a fantastic artist. I don't know if he should be included here, but I'd definitely recommend him to all fans of prog. Like you said, he makes great use of odd time signatures and all kinds of instruments (I think he himself plays something like 25 different instruments on Illinois), not to mention his albums have fantastic concepts and incredibly poetic and interesting lyrics.

You know, now that I think about it, he really should be included here. I'd be ecstatic to see him added.

And you're basing that opinion on what songs? Confused Even if you don't like his music, the prog tendencies in Illinois are totally undeniable.

i love Sufjan Stevens and i think he could easily fit under the progressive-folk category.  Just because its American folk instead of European doesnt mean its not progWink

Sufjan Stevens is one very talented guy -  - I don't really care if he's added here or not - he's just a bloody good artist .

Yeah i was reading his little bio on his record label (which he and his step-father created) and he's self taught as a musician. All of the instruments he plays he learned himself. Thats just incredible. Considering the extent of instruments he plays.

Well i hope that guy DOES leave if they add Sufjan to PA, because despite his opinion, Sufjan is an amazing musician, poet, singer, everything.

Not to mention hes a stud muffin. hahaha. Big smile
