I just put some mp3's on myspace, some recordings from 2002\3 thought to be lost. Very atmospheric stuff (IMHO).

http://www.myspace.com/14595152

The first two tracks are more pop\rock\alternative, while the last two are much more experimental. Each track is stranger than the one before it, culminating in the final song.

Though it's not exactly prog, it should appeal to fans of the genre. Opinions and comments welcome.

New material is in the works, pushing the concepts presented in these tidbits even further. Below is my blog post describing the songs...

The loading time for the tracks can be cut in half if you select STANDALONE MP3 PLAYER...

A Little on the songs -

This music is best heard on headphones (if you don't have headphones, please make sure that both speakers work, or important elements will be unheard), with eyes closed. You are about to partake on a journey. It will take you to places familiar and strange. You can choose your own mental images or the ones below. Bon Voyage.

BITTERSWEET - Short and to the point. I was trying to create a solo that was simutaneously filled with AND devoid of emotion.

MY TIMES AT THE BEACH - SUNRISE - See the waves crash upon the rocks. Imagine yourself a child again, playing in the sand on a sunny day. The smell of cheap suntan lotion, the taste of melting orange pushups.

AN ABSURDLY SHORT EXCERPT FROM THE SPECTRUM OF REAL HUMAN EMOTION - No further description necessary.

MY TIMES AT THE BEACH - SUNSET
The same beach, but this time you are your current age and the sun is going to sleep. You decide to walk the entire lengh of the beach.
Along the way, as the sky darkens, you see :
Shadows which seem to take on menacing forms
A family of salamanders scuttle across the sand
a group of strangers in the distance having a bonfire and a few drinks, conversing about things forign to you
A comet streaking across the night sky
The turbulent waves of the lake becoming tranquil, still like glass and just as fragile
The highway, where a passing car begins to stall. The journey is over. For now.

I think it's good - as a start. But I think you may be getting a bit ahead of yourself, what with "mission statement", imagery and all that. Don't get me wrong - it's good - better than what I'm working on right now - but just remember that even the greatest artists take at least a year before they release each album. It is indeed very good. A for Affort!
