Just play everything from Time And A Word up to 90125.That will be a thirteen hour concert but if they use every musician thats ever played in Yes and work in shifts then they should be able to get the job doneCoolLOL

HAS to include "Close to the Edge" and "South Side of the Sky".

Also, "Starship Trooper" with the classic live Wakeman/Howe synth vs. guitar duel is the best encore period.

Cheers!

In my dreams only but let's play anyway... And since this is in my dreams then A. the band is still perfectly capable of stuff like Soundchaser and B. Bruffy is back! Also, no Rabin-era songs included since I'm only familiar with 'Owner' at this point.

Siberian Khatru
Starship Trooper
Wonderous Stories
Perpetual Change
Machine Messiah
Yours Is No Disgrace

-the band takes a well-deserved break-

Close to the Edge
Heart of the Sunrise
Ritual (abridged -sorry! Embarrassed)
Mood for a Day
Soundchaser
Tempus Fugit

encore:
Awaken

This once-in-a-lifetime performance would be around two and a half hours according to my rough calculations. I could definitely sit through that!...

Well, they've played every one of those songs since 2000, except the Remembering, so I hope you've been going to Yes concerts.

And unfortuntely, Yes set lists have been very stale, with the exception of the incredbile 35th Anniversary tour. I would vote for the songs below, but not necessarily in this running order:

Beyond and Before
Looking Around
For Everyone
The Remembering
Soundchaser
To Be Over
Parallels
Release Release
Madrigal
Silents Wings of Freedom
Days (Jon solo vocal version from Tormato)
Everyone's Song (early version of Does It Really Happen? from Tormato)
Quartet (ABWH)
Let's Pretend (ABWH)
That That Is
New State of Mind
The Ladder
Nine Voices

Those would be great, + I'm Running

  • An acoustic song from Steve Howe
  • And you and I
  • Gates of delirium
  • Heart of the sunrise
  • The acoustic part of The Ancient
  • Awaken
wow...that would be ...sooooooooooooooooo great!!!

How does this differ from a typical recent set list? They've played all of those songs since '99, most in the same night.

I must say, that while I respect my progarchives colleages, most of the suggested set lists are dull at best. Have you been going to Yes concerts and paying attention? The band toured relentlessly from '97 to '04, and played virtually every song mentioned, on multiple tours.

Most of you have just copied a set list, or merged a set list from some tour since '96. Since '96, they've played all of The Yes Album (except A Venture), all of Fragile (except Wakeman and Bruford solo bits), all of CttE, side 1 and 4 of Topo, Gates, and all of GftO (except Parallels). So it's deja vu all over again, and you all must not go to many Yesshows.

Having been to 25 Yes concerts myself, my dream is to hear songs I've never heard live before. For that reason, the 2004 tour was my favorite, as it offered a remarkably fresh set list.

While The Yes Album, Fragile, CttE and GftO are always well represented, the 16 other Yes albums have been mostly ignored, which is a shame because every Yes album has something to offer. I particular, I would enjoyed hearing the ignored epics (in order): That That Is, The Remembering, Quartet, To Be Over, and Soundchaser. I also missed the Ladder tour, and love to hear Homeworld, and would enjoy hearing Gates again, since it was part of the recent set list only briefly, in 2000 and 2001.

Well, Kirklott, looks like you have been to 25 more Yes gigs than I have! Wink And half of the songs on your list I have not yet even heard so it would be kind of hard to wish for them to be played, lol...

Having said that, if the gig could somehow be extended to three hours, I would have nothing against them playing stuff from The Ladder or a nice little song like Release Release (the only song of interest to me on Tormato, I might add.)

Besides, a Yes gig without Roundabout would already be a novelty! Tongue

You are joking of course. I came across this book in the library today written by some Canadian guy and he rates in his opinion 90125 and Big Generator as the top Yes albums.Confused

Most of Yes & Time And A Word plus some select other tracks (Siberian Khatru, Long Distance Runaround, Starship Trooper, And You And I...). I favor the early stuff w/Kaye & Banks...
