Dick Annegarn is with Jacques Brel my favourite Belgian songwriter. He is not Prog, but he creates unusual athmospheres and rather strange lyrics (and a special humour) inside the 'French Chanson' genre. Apart from having written the inofficial hymn for Bruxelles he has written great  tunes as 'Bébé Elephant' , 'Ubu', 'Coutances', 'Mireille' and others. BTW he is still releasing good records.

Tadpoles keep screaming in my ear
"Hey there! Rotter's Club!
Explain the meaning of this song and share it"

Salut Martin,

Dick is not Belgian, but Dutch , but he has lived in Brussels for most of his life. But yes, he has embraced fully the strange sense of Belgian songwriting

Outside of his best known song Bruxelles, I cannot say I know his stuff that well.

To progheads, one should hear the album D A made with the leader of Cos, Daniel Schell in 1979 as a duo.

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword
