All great, what's the problem? If you want to remove a vocalist, then include Roger Waters in the list.

Nah Roger Waters was the best vocalist in Floyd

I voted LaBrie. I can stand DT's instrumental work but he always ruins it for me, I hate his voice.

picked the last alternative, I find all 3 vocalists quite important and defining for their respective band's sound.

the singer from Agalloch, his grunts are awefull!

but from the 3 listed it would be Geddy Lee (but that's also because i'm more into Dream Theater and Yes than into Rush)

i just can't understand why a lot of people hate James LaBrie's voice, he has a very unique sound.

okay, in the late 90's his voice was lesser than in the early 90's but if you watched SCORE you will notice that his voice is in great condition, now he sounds almost like he sounded in the early 90's (with the Images & Words tour etc..)
nou... mag ik het niet nog een keertje overdoen?

I'm happy enough with all three...

...their qualities are all put into prespective by Clive Nolan's vocals on the Shadowland albums...LOL

Jon Anderson's singing voice is _the_ reason why i don't listen Yes so much.

All three great... well, actually that's wrong: GL is fine, J.Anderson is great, and JLBrie is The Master. Comprende?

This poll should've included all-time worst vocalist (of course that's an exaggeration) Ray Alder from Fates Warning.

Anderon's voice fits Yes, no problem. Sounds good on Lizard too

Lee is sometimes grating but that's Rush

The biggest vocal obstacle I have come across is Hamill - he is a big roadblock between me and VDGG

As for this debate, I'd like to offer an argument from left field. Unless you're living under a rock, most of you may be familiar with an international music show, which in America is called "American Idol". There have been the occasional real talent presented here, but mostly the winners, or favourites have tended towards the ones utilising the most "histrionics", i.e. the "Mariah Carey". In other words, no matter the song they sing, every trick in a vocalist's repertory is shoved in; multiple octave, over-emoting, soft/quiet to loud & (supposedly) heartfelt, in other words, let's throw in everything, including the kitchen sink (which if I could, I would rather knock them over the head with it). Their range is impressive, their vocal control is more than equal to the task, but the individuality is nowhere to be found. Geoffrey Tate from Queensryche has a great voice, & for those inclined to heavier music, Rob Halford could shriek with the best; but as with guitarists who have nothing to offer but an overabundance of technique, they simply do not stand out from the pack. Jon Anderson has a marvelous high pitched voice. Did he ever show a need to show it off every song - no. And although I prefer Ian Gillan's voice to Robert Plant's,  I often find Gillan falling back on a limited number of vocal stylings. Range is great, but what you do within that is what differentiates the great from the competent .
