Takanaka is a well known artist from Japan who's music fuses city pop, jazz rock, samba and even some prog. I'm suggesting him for related because his music isn't prog rock 100 percent of the time however there's multiple instances of it in his career however from my understanding you can't suggest a band only for prog related so if a genre had to be chosen I'd say Crossover for his city pop influence or jr/f for his jazz chops, his other bands Sadistic Mika Band and Flid Egg/Ex Strawberry Path are here in the archives so I don't think he'll be a stretch, here's some listening links

Ready To Fly

Rainbow Goblins (full album, this is widely considered to be his prog rock opus)

Tropic Birds

An Insatiable High

His live performances are also worth checking out, he's even jamed with Santana. If he does get approved I'll write a bio

Hi,

Really nice guitarist, and his work with SMB is actually very special in their 3 albums together. The first one is a bit of a psychedelic album, and it is a fun album, and crazy and nuts at the same time. A fun listen, though progressive folks lack humor in general, and only think things are funny when everyone else agrees with them! The next two albums have some outstanding pieces with the lead guitar and he plays in concert some of the parts/pieces in the SMB, though he has become better known as a soft jazzy easy listening kind of player nowadays ... age ... age ... it happens to all of us! But in the early examples, that man could play and then some ... !!!

I imagine that he deserves it for his artistry and how the music that he plays has become known which is well received in his concerts, and given a hand very quickly. I would vote for him, but only if the Sadistic Mika Band was on PA, in which case it would be natural to have him added along.

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!
