I searched and it seems that this question was asked for the first and last time on the forum in 2008, meaning sixteen (!) years ago. I was still a fetus.

In the last month I dedicated myself to listening to all of Univers Zero's studio albums (and some live ones) and Present (which I had pending, as their albums are not on YouTube or anywhere else).
Anyway, if I had to choose one of the two, which one would I stick with? Even after several days of contemplating this question, I still haven't found an answer (and I don't think I will for a long time).

Which one would you choose?

I find both excellent, both have great albums, but Univers Zero overall for me for sure. By favourite of the chamber rock RIO bands is Art Zoyd, incidentally.

Univers Zero, quite comfortably. As their Chamber Music-like version of RIO/Avant-Prog featured on their first three albums equals some of my favorite music out of all music, period.

-but you can be happy that you don't have to choose, as Present are great as well.

Very hard to pick, UZ have been my favorite for a lot of years but Present have closed the gap in recent years.
