For any of you in Vancouver, you should check out this upcoming Genesis tribute show at the Vogue Theatre on October 24th, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Selling England by the Pound!
"50 years ago, Genesis released Selling England by the Pound and changed Rock history. It’s 1973 - PETER GABRIEL's famous theatrics and GENESIS' musical apex produce some of the most iconic images and sounds of the 70’s, enjoying to this day a cult following. A TIMELESS CLASSIC. THE MUSICAL BOX, who shared the stage with PHIL COLLINS and STEVE HACKETT as performing guests and acclaimed by more than a million spectators in some of the most prestigious venues in the world such as London’s ROYAL ALBERT HALL and Paris’ OLYMPIA, will perform the emblematic 1973 show in painstaking detail." Was at the show in Gatineau, QC - man, groovy recreation of the Foxtrot tour complete with original stage set.....the Gabriel character even broke out the Magog mask! This tour celebrates the 50th anniversary of SEBTP, so we basically got a Genesis Live/Selling show - absolutely groovy. You have to sit far enough away and squint a little to blur things, but, man, that WAS Genesis circa '73. Powerful stuff.

I like to feel the suspense when you're certain you know I am there.....

Hi, Nice to see this done with all the theatrical elements involved ... I think it makes the show more memorable and something that one should not miss, since it won't happen too many times, and the show will be gone sooner than later. The same thing happened to The Wall ... the later versions by RW did not have the flair and the beauty of the first series of shows that the band lost money on, but luckily were able to recoup with the album sales, and then the film sales. The first round of the film in the big cities was done in Quadraphonic sound .... not just the regular theater sound which was the case in smaller cities and locations to save the expense.

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

While I'm from Vancouver, sadly I could not make it. If only it had not taken place on the same evening that the We Can't Dance Ballet was performing.
Seriously, it sounds like a fine show. |

It must be amazing to see it performed live, especially with The Musical Box they’re known for putting on a great show.
