But I do know Gazeuze! - and I don't enjoy that much either. Once again I blame Holdsworth:)

^I'm not surprised. Allan, especially his solo material, is not favored on PA. Y'all are crazy.

^Nah, it's just me and a couple of others really. His (skillful, I suppose) playing is grating to my ears and I don't enjoy his compositions either.  It's the rest of you that are crazy. I'm joking. Kind of. I'm just not into the kind of "fast and technically impressive" Jazz Rock at all (I know he's not only about that). But I know plenty of decent people who are. I don't like the way he/his guitar sounds either.

^I don't want to derail this thread but, John Coltrane was the most "fast and technically impressive" saxaphone player ever. Yet you enjoy him.

Holdsworth is the Coltrane of guitar.

I strongly disagree. But I don't really prefer Coltrane at his "fastest" either. I love him in his more spiritual way of a spirited mode. Also Coltrane took his time and knew how to build both a composition and slowly build tension, so to me the intense parts (often) comes as a welcome release. Anyway, beyond A Love Supreme, I'm not as interested anymore. There's definitely parts or tunes I enjoy after as well, but an album like Ascension borders on unlistenable (to me).
