H Everyone, here's a band that I'd like to suggest under the Prog/Folk sub-genre.

The Magpie Arc work out of Sheffield and the vibe is classic UK folk/rock with prog elements and a modern production on original material, reworkings of traditional songs and very strong cover songs of UK and US writers.

The "supergroup" bit is totally tongue in cheek (see the winking emoji) so please don't take it the wrong way but they are made up of individually well established and in some cases very well known faces from the UK folk scene who have worked solo and with the Steeleye's, Albion's and the Fairport's etc. and who are now doing something together.

Great singing, excellent musicianship, riffs, harmonies and a genuine UK guitar legend in Martin Simpson.
Here's a link to their bio and PR photo with press quotes...

And a link to their latest album which has been in the UK Official Folk Chart since it's release (highest placing was number 9)...

And some press quotes with sources...

"Liege and Lief affirming" and "an elemental racket."  (Mojo Magazine)

“The possibilies The Magpie Arc offer are very enticing indeed. You owe it to yourself to catch
this band as soon as you can. Capability, flair and originality rarely come so well wrapped.” (Spiral Earth)

“Everyone in the band brings their own talents but the synergy makes them much more than the
sum of their parts. It takes "folk-rock" to a new and exciting level.” (Fatea Magazine)

“Folk/rock with Led Zeppelin vibes”. (Mark Radcliffe, BBC Radio 2)

“Just the right amount of Black Sabbath for folk/rock” (Rock Slam Podcast)

And further links of interest...

Hope you like them!

Unfortunately the team has rejected them for prog folk.  Their similarities are mostly to prog related groups and most of the songs seem like straightforward folk rock or rock folk.
