General How do I become a Prog Reviewer/Special Collaborator? "Special collaborators" also regularly submit high quality reviews, but in addition they participate in (or have participated in) the running of the site. You would normally become a Prog Reviewer or Special Collaborator by invitation from the site owners. If however, you feel you have met the following criteria, and would like to be considered for induction as a Prog Reviewer, send a Private Message (PM) to "Andy Webb" (the Collaborator Manager) making your case.
To become a Special Collaborator, you will normally need to have been a Prog Reviewer first. Prog Reviewers who are willing to contribute in some way to the running of the site should contact a member of the admin team giving details of the type of function you would be willing to undertake. What is progressive rock? What are all the sub-genres? How do I propose the addition of a band or artist to the site? How can I see what bands or albums have recently been added to the site? How do I submit corrections to band or album information? How do I submit band biographies? Who should I contact about…….? Why is (insert band name here) included/not included on the site? Why did I not get a response to a PM (Private message) I sent to a member of the admin team, or to a post I made to advise them of something/suggest a change etc.? Please bear in mind that the site is run on an entirely voluntary basis. All the people who dedicate their time to the running of the site have other commitments. They have to therefore prioritise the time they can spend on the site, which sometimes means that they are unable to respond to you personally. Rest assured though, even if you do not receive a direct response your contribution is appreciated, and your comments will be taken on board.. Do you have banners to enable me to link my site to Prog Archives? How do I propose changes or improvements to the site, or report bugs? Bug reporting is done here: How can I see a list of all bands from a specified country? This forum post has links for each country:
How do I find information about something which is not covered in this thread?
You can ask a question in the "How do I..? section of the forum. http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=59 Check first though as your question may already have been answered. You can also try using the forum search facility to search for thread titles. Forum How do I "activate" my membership? When you join the forum, you will be asked to give a valid e-mail address as part of your registration. A confirmation e-mail will be sent to you, and you will need to click on a link in the e-mail to activate your membership.
Please note that some spam filters may intercept the confirming e-mail. If you do not appear to have received the message within a few hours, check your filtered messages in case it is there. What are the site rules?
You can find them here: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=13083 How do I update my forum profile? What are PMs? How do I post pictures to the forum? Why can't I create polls or vote in existing ones? Poll creation and voting is only available to forum members with higher ranks than Newbie. Once you've posted 40 messages on the forum, you'll be able to vote in prog polls. This was introduced on the forums to avoid people creating fake accounts to mess with the polls. Reviews How do I submit a review? How do I see previous reviews I have submitted? Why was my review deleted? If your review has been deleted, it will be because it did not comply with the guidelines in full. Common reasons for deleting reviews are:
How do I edit my review? http://www.progarchives.com/all_collaborators.asp After logging in, simply click "Edit your old reviews/ratings" to view and edit your reviews. Why are ratings without reviews accepted? Many people, especially those who do not speak English, find it difficult to write a review which complies with our guidelines. For this reason, we allow the submission of ratings without reviews. This allows everyone who loves prog music to feel they are a part of the site. Ratings without reviews however carry less value when calculating average ratings etc. See the Reviews guidelines for more information. Why is part my e-mail address used as my reviewer name, how can I change this? Can I see a list of all my reviews? Edited by Andy Webb - April 08 2015 at 00:02 |
