We're Going to California for this all-female, all-American Led Zep tribute band. I have a Whole Lotta Love for these girls and I hope their Rock and Roll music will take you up the Stairway to Heaven and back too. Heart Smile

Zepparella have only released one self-titled studio album so far, but what a totally awesome album it is! Clap

^ Love these girls. They really nail the old Zep classics, and are very easy on the eye too!

I expect you've probably come across Strange Kind of Women as well. If not, then:

You should check out Beth Hart's recent Zep tribute album.

I've come across some strange kind of women in the past, but this is the first time I've seen them performing Live. They sounded great and they're strangers to me no more! Thumbs Up

If you like excellent covers bands in general, and don't mind most of the members being male, then if you haven't already done so, check out Marillion covers band Mr Punch. The band's guitarist is Ubi Maior's Marcella Arganese, and she does a pretty damn fine job on Steve Rothery's parts (so to speak lol!).

Marillion didn't play that song live very often, and when they did, I doubt that it could have been very much better than this superb cover. Approve

Mr Punch do a pretty decent take on Genesis too:

That was recorded towards the end of the first lockdown in the summer of 2020.

Yes, I've watched that video countless times before, and there can never be a equal for the young Fish on vocals, but I reckon Mr Punch are a fair match for the rest of the band instrumentally, and the vocalist certainly doesn't spoil the song either. Certainly the best cover that I've seen of the song as yet.

Beth Hart's rousing and rollicking cover version is enough to lift anyone out of a Black Dog depression, although she doesn't look like the kind of woman you'd take home to meet your mother. Tongue

Zepparella - When the Levee Breaks, prepare for a flood of Rock & Roll.

Maybe I'm amazed, but I'm not Dazed and Confused over preferring the original song above Zepparella's version here, whose lead singer is sadly no match for Robert Plant's vocal acrobatics. Smile

As Plant couldn't sing half of the songs because of a broken voice, eg Black Dog and that fantastic bluesy hard rock monument = The Rover, would fail live.

While LZ would risk public disappointment into drowning their songs into long improvs, as if what was carefully built for the album was too unpleasant to render live, Zepparella honours the studio renderings – whenever possible that is, as f.i. two guitarists are needed in the middle section of No Quarter–, to the extent some of the covers end up sounding actually better than the original at times !

Led Zeppelin vs. Zepparella - No Quarter (No Contest!)

^ I've prefered the studio track to any live perf of NQ I've watched but it's nice to see bands have a go
