The Westcoast band  Beau Brummels had a similar fate as Sopwith Camel. They released mainly 45's in the Mid 60's were  filed as teenage music and  completely forgotten when they tried to make more interesting music. Now, 'Triangle' was their first effort to move  into a more 'progressive' direction. The record was released one month after 'Sergeant Pepper' july 1967 and the 2 records are quite similar in the approach : an overall athmosphere through the whole record, the orchestral arrangements, the vocal arrangements, the use of unusual instruments ( Van Dyke Parks played harpsichord on one track),and  the strange psychedelic lyrics. It is a nice blend of Westcoast , psychedelic, country and Prog. It is a beautiful  and  magic record with an excellent production from Lenny Warronker.

Great album. Also like "Bradley's Barn," an early attempt at country rock.
