It's hard enough to choose sometimes when there are only ten guitarists in the poll, but imagine how hard it's going to be to choose in the final face-off round when there at least 20 top guitarists in the poll. That's why I've decided to allow multiple voting in the final deciding poll for the ultimate guitar hero. Smile

Almost went with Holdsworth but then I saw Eric Johnson on the bottom of the list. I always felt EJ was the perfect combination of chops, feel & style.  He may not be as technically proficient as Holdsworth but I think he makes up for it in other areas so EJ gets my vote.

As much as I love the guitar playing of Johnson and Holdsworth (and appreciate the influence many of the others had), I just have to go with Steve Howe as my favorite on that list.

Great to see Eric finally get a vote!  I would add that, having seen him live a few times in addition to owning everything he's recorded, I don't see him as lagging anyone, Holdsworth (who I have the utmost respect for) included, technically.  EJ's fretboard wizardry can stand aside anybody's.

Eric Johnson over Allan Holdsworth

^I can't make any sense of that, but I'm sure it must mean something to a computer. Smile
