I would like to commend the OP for having a great sense of humor! I was lucky enough to see EFL in Manhattan once in '84 as a quartet with, IIRC, Jo and Bruno Mellier. Alas, being a dreaded Newbie, I can't vote but I treasure the memory of that show. I can't honestly say that I recall ever hearing anything by Rush. My tastes are strictly RIO/Avant.
Welcome aboard Socrates, there's a small but feisty RIO cabal on the site.

THe Necromancer.. all anyone needs to know of Rush
The rest? Just the product of geekdom on high and perhaps the best example (through strongly rivaled by the SWilson army) of having mediocre albums raised on high by legions of acne scarred, pimple popping fanboys hah

Rush are basically what The Dixie Chicks would've sounded like if they'd been French-Canadian
Couldn't have said it better myself.

Yessir!
The Necromancer is legendary. The gold standard of D&D prog, as you've so affectionately (and perfectly) described it. One of the cultural treasures that makes me truly proud to be Canadian. They only went downhill from there.
when i was a kid a doller was worth ten dollers - now a doller couldnt even buy you fifty cents
