bands don't have to sound a whole lot alike to tour together.
it's more interesting if they're different. personally, i think
its a great combination and i wish i could've seen one of the shows.

I'd love to go to a tour of the bands together. About 5 of my friends can comfortably list System as their favourite band and i think Mars Volta are a star in a shining future of prog, (even if they hate being branded so) so it's a damn good combination - maybe i could get some of my metalhead and indie friends into TMV. One problem, TMV would have to cut down on their 2.5 hour concerts as theyre only support. But i did wonder, why are they supporting System in the first place? Both bands are more then capable of filling concert halls themselves and would of course have longer to play. |

There are lots of people here who speak English as a second language, and some who barely speak it at all. There's no need to be a jerk about it . |

Why not? Not much similarity in the music but a good way of opening the minds of classic prog fans to prog metal and vice versa. |

The Mars Volta and SOAD sound like a great pairing. I'd love to see them both.

why is it only in the states you have great shows. in the uk, we get the main act and then a couple of small average supports. the only thing close to a states show was the chilis and mars volta but thats when the volta were unknown. and not really big at all |

I'm just saying, there's a closer relation between SOAD and TMV than there is between DT and Yes, and we Yes fans didn't complain about DT at all. Gaston |

Dream Theater and Symphony X are the main reasons I'm going to Gigantour, but I can't wait for DEP. I've really started to like them lately . BTW, how was the show overall? |

There are a lot of people with ESL who contribute to this website and I must admit to finding the odd review hard to understand. That said if you enjoy giving people a hard time about spelling and grammar you could find a better forum to do it in rather than the progarchives. Go and have a look at www.engrish.com I'm sure you will have hours of fun!! |

English is just like any other language on Earth,i mean , learning other languages is learning something you already know, everything means the same thing in every language, only difference are words... So someone that doesnt know English, doesnt mean that he is less intelligent than someone who speaks it.If we understand what the autor was saying,it's ok |
