Topic: Unknown album and artist Help!! Posted: August 24 2015 at 14:21 |
Can anyone help me please? I'm trying to trace an album from the late sixties, unfortunately I cannot remember the name of the artist, or the album, Sorry!! What I do recall, is that one side of the album is called Love and the other side is called The City, one of them is Parts 1-4 and the other Parts 1-5. I also think that it may have been possibly a King Crimson spin off!
Not much to go on I know, but I live in hope that someone out there can help.
Many thanks
Tom

Well...there are two long multi-part 'suites' on Mcdonald and Giles (from Crimson) which might be the album you are referring to but the word Love and City are not the titles. I don't know of any other except Sinfield's (original lyricist for Crimson) album 'Still' and it was not the same titles either nor a multi-part format.

Thanks Steve,
I do have the Macdonald and Giles album and am also aware of "Still" I may be wrong in thinking that there is a link with King Crimson, but it was certainly around the same time and definitely a prog album.
But many thanks for your help.
Cheers Tom

I think it might be Mark-Almond's namesake album, released in 1971: http://www.discogs.com/Mark-Almond-Mark-Almond-I/release/552489 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPYyjdSZa0M

Hi, Thanks for your help, but it's not that one. It only had one track on each side; Love and The City, I also think it would have been released around 1968 ish!
But many thanks anyway!
Cheers

^Is this the album that you thought was a KC spin off?

If you could give a sense of how the music sounded it might make it easier -

It would wouldn't it ? This is ProgWorld FFS, is Close to the Edge a single piece in four parts or four songs ? btw ..... thank you Paulinidgo for coming up with the MA album. Havn't listened to any of their stuff in decades, much of it was extremely enjoyable.
