 Topic: Next thing for me...

I've been listening this month to all I have from King Crimson/Genesis and VdGG...
So I requesting a recommendation on what should be my next band to listen:
- Yes (3)
- Zappa (2)
- Marillion
- Rush
- Colloseum
- Peter Hammill (2)
- Jethro Tull
I realize eventually I might listen to all of them,but for the moment what should my next step be...

Hammill. his masterpiece "The Fall of the House of Usher". on the other
hand: save that for later; anything else will sound shallow after this

So Yes-Hamill 3-1...
i must say I'm not very excited to Hamill since I don't like very much Van Der Graaf Generator...

Realising that those bands have released sometimes quite different works:
Yes- Fragile, the Yes album& Time&Word
Zappa - Roxy&Elsewhere, Apostrophe&overnite sensation
Colloseum - I'd at least recommend Valentyne Suite, as that's the only one I know, but it roxx0rz.
Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick& Benefit.
Now honestly, except Colloseum&Zappa, I don't like all of these
bands too much as they don't quite realize what some other bands have
established. I recommend the first album up till Interview from
GentleGiant. It fits right into the Genesis/KC/vdGG group.

first band out of the seven i should start with first...

Or "The Fall of the House of Usher", "The Appointed Hour", "The Union
Chapel Concert" and "Spur of the Moment". Suppose he started with
"Loops and Reels"; he would get a completely wrong impression of
Hammill.

That will be some task if Zappa is the one you choose...or any of them really. But, Zappa has the largest catalogue i believe of those.

^^^It will be, as possibly Time & A Word will also be...you need to get straight on to 'The Yes Album' for the true rewards to start!
If you tried some Marillion from their debut album, you definitely won't be disappointed!!!
