Outstanding, Sventonio!
Man With Hat and I were just talking about this on another thread earlier today! I've got the CD too, and will be playing it tonight for the first time! |

LOL! I just did a post for this band too! - Svetonio, you beat me to it!
![]() All I can add is that the album is currently on Progstreaming, so one of our collaborators will probably have already taken it down into the dark chasms that lie beneath these forums: http://www.progstreaming.com/_wb/pages/play-album.php?activeAlbum=00604+-+The+Worm+Ouroboros+-+Of+Things+That+Never+Were Eclectic is what I had it down as too - a mix of Canterbury and Italian style Symphonic in the main.

I'm glad because I know you'll like them as I do. Btw, I recommended them at Bandcamp recommandations thread before I posted the suggestion: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=69197&PN=66 Actually, this debut is the masterpiece. Edited by Svetonio - December 18 2013 at 23:01 |

Had this album for a few months, usual Altrock quality release. Excellent band.

^^ There's a pretty good chance that this will already have been posted directly in one of the team threads by a collaborator, since it is such a fine debut album, and is currently on progstreaming.com
It has been discussed in another thread by members of the JR/F and RPI teams, and several members already have it listed in their 'unofficial' top albums of 2013. It will probably be too late to get the band added to the site in time for collabs to include the album in their official top albums of 2013 lists, but I'm pretty sure that someone somewhere will be taking care of this suggestion. I can't check up for you myself, of course, but if any passing collabs would like to nip downstairs and have a quick 'look see' for us, it would be very much appreciated! ![]() ![]() Edited by yam yam - December 28 2013 at 08:04 |

Except if anyone sent a pm to a collab,
^this didn't really happen as far as my search tells me (could be wrong though). As far as suggesting it goes I guess it can be done but I think the Eclectic team is a bit under the weather at the moment if that's where you think the band should go. |

So there are two bands named The Worm Ourorobos then? I only know the US one featured here on PA under exp/post metal. I would've thought it was a pretty original name, but what do I know...

Thanks for checking up on this in the collab zone I guess we're still open to any thoughts whatsoever that folks might have regarding an appropriate sub. I was about to post the very same suggestion myself the other day for inclusion in Eclectic (in fact I did post it...but Sve had beaten me to the line by about 5 minutes, so I had to delete my post again sharpish! ![]() This band and album seem to be a pretty hot topic around here at the moment, so it seems that an evaluation ought to be gotten underway somewhere. I understand the situation with Eclectic - they've been struggling for some time to clear their lines, so another one to add to the pile won't exactly be an ideal belated Xmas present for them...but if that's what is ultimately agreed upon as the most appropriate sub, then I guess we have to live with this. Andy will probably move this suggestion forward in the normal way in due course anyway - I was just curious as to whether it had already been taken care of 'behind the scenes', as it were.

The Worm Ouroboros is the name of a heroic high fantasy novel by Eric Rücker Eddison, first published in 1922. I guess a high profile member of both these outfits enjoyed reading it, and subsequently both decided to use it as their band name.

Ouroboros is also a mythological symbol depicting a serpent or dragon eating its tail. As Worm is often used in place of dragon or serpent historically (eg Lambton Worm) it's not that surprising a band name.

They sound amazing, eclectic would be the right place. There is to little Canterbury in there mix to pin them down there.

Seeing as you're a collab, you could always check the eclectic thread yourself

Sure, and I do, but then the rest of the guys that are not collab (as I was for many years) know nothing about this, and sometimes bands added are not even notified with makes it really hard to know about it
![]() So I like to post on the open threads, so everybody can see it ![]() |
