Greek project that has released its first EP in May 2012 ''Equations Vanquish Equality''.
All tracks can be streamed here, albeit the EP is of 17-18 minutes duration only. http://eve0581.bandcamp.com/album/equations-vanquish-equality Short bio E.V.E.
(Equations Vanquish Equality) initially started out as a melodic
prog/rock project by Vicky Psarakis, an american-greek
vocalist/composer, in late 2010. The main concept behind it is the world
we currently live in, everyday human situations and interactions,
"disease", and the kind of corruption that comes from within.
Music-wise, though the style mainly revolves around a melodic/prog core, you can identify various fusion, ambient & oriental elements. With the help of several talented musicians from Greece the first self-titled EP was officially released in May 2012. Keys, guitars, bass & saxophone were recorded by Elias Nousis, who also helped with the arrangement and the drums were played by the world-wide known George Kollias. E.V.E. are currently working on forming a stable line-up and releasing a full length album in 2013. (E.V.E.'s first self-titled EP release, officially released 14 May 2012.
Music composed and arranged by Vicky Psarakis & Elias Nousis.
Guest Musicians: Keys/Guitars/Bass/Saxophone by Elias Nousis Electric Guitars on "The Planet's Cry" by Tasos Asonitis (Wings in Motion) Acoustic Guitar solo on "The Planet's Cry" by Konstantinos Stavrou Drums by George Kollias Recordings and mixing took place at 9800 Studios (www.9800.gr). Mastering done by Nathan Allen at Last Drop Mastering, SF (www.lastdropmastering.com). Artwork & Logo designed by Virginia Kakava (Art of Sin Design).) Not sure if the amount of music is enough for an evaluation, but I hear mostly Crossover with some beautiful vocals. See what you think ![]() |

I think it’s really difficult to state your musical identity in your first release, something that I hope will be clearer in the full-length release coming soon... We are currently working on songs for a full-length release. Hopefully, it will be released in 2013. I’m not so sure about the title yes or the number of songs, but you can expect it to be quite lengthy. Also, music-wise it will be a bit more aggressive than the EP, having the guitars a bit more present in comparison.
Melodic prog / metal that would probably fit nicely in Crossover, but I think we should perhaps wait for that full-length album as the EP (by Vicky's own admission) may not be all that representative of the band's direction. Edited by seventhsojourn - May 07 2013 at 05:00 |
