Could an administrator please delete my review for Gentle Giant's Octopus to be found here: http://www.progarchives.com/Review.asp?id=940413

I failed to format it by paragraph properly. Help would be greatly appreciated. As it is, it's a poor reflection on the website, and myself.

For the future reference, you can always edit your reviews. Just find the tab "Collaborators/Members Zone".

You always have the possibility of re-editing your reviews without deleting anyhting.

Honesty I don't like what's happening: I don't like how the link to this thread has been posted. I don't like the smiles and I don't like also Tubes who has the right to review Octopus and rate it with one star, but having done it now sounds provoking.

I think nobody is showing politeness.  Unhappy

And even more, I think you can modify the ratings as well, in case you might think about improving them with some more refinement .

Your latest attempt is a blatant attempt at rating manipulation and this is unacceptable. In that review you have made the claim that you intend to do this on other albums. This will not be tolerated:
Quote Usually I will refrain from reviewing albums the average
ratings for which I feel to be accurate estimates of the value I would assign to them. My rating
could only raise or lower a general appraisal which I would opine to be fair, anyway. So I will
primarily contribute to the critical analyses of albums that seem to be over-  or under-rated. Gentle
Giant's Octopus would be one of such over-rated albums.
.
.
.
And finally, after having reviewed my? er? review, I can see that I've pretty damn well knocked
Octopus down for the count ? the count to eight. *Winks.

Not big, not funny, not clever. Fix this now.

Also, the Admins will no longer delete your reviews so you can repost an edit and get back on the PA front page - learn to edit your own reviews, any reviews we delete from now on will stay deleted, including this one if you fail to correct it.
What?

Well, the options open to me are three-fold;
  1. Ghost edit the review myself
  2. Delete the review
  3. Suspend/Delete the user
All of which are distasteful to me personally because even I find that level of heavy-handed authoritarian action to be excessive and the short path to acusations of indiscriminate nazism. The concept of Moderation around here is based upon people doing the decent thing when asked and not being selfish and/or ignorant - pouty defiance is not being heroic, it's being a spoilt t**t.

So the bottom-line is little sh*ts like Colton Beatty of Cedar Rapids Iowa, can piss all over the PA, the spirit of the PA and the good nature of the PA to full content of their bloated, fat-arsed egos because there is f**k-all we can do to stop them.

Yet, ironically, leaving the review untouched merely shows the reviewer for what he really is, childish.

With no apparent contrition for such blatant disregard for both the letter and the spirit of the guidelines:
Why can't you just delete the crude little runt?

Who so much attention to that thing? He has clearly tried to be provoking, I can't be even sure that it's really his opinion about the album. I agree with Dean, let it be forgotten it doesn't deserve a thread.

I do acknowledge your rationale here if the reviewer is but a sad sack troll who merely craves attention, then ignoring him will result in their either leaving the site or ceasing to review albums.(No loss there I agree) We don't want potentially contributing members to stop reviewing albums or leave the site. If we ignore such disingenuous reviews in the hope that the practice will simply 'go away' when starved of the oxygen of publicity, ain't we setting ourselves up to be perceived as piss weak administration territory?  It would be unreasonable to expect the Admins to read every review but given that there is a very active thread dedicated to such monitoring, I can't see the worst offenders escaping detection and a warning PM does not feed any troll's thirst for notoriety.

*shrug* Once again my sarcasm flies over the head of its intended target and splatters against the wall of the obtuse and slides down to the floor in a sorry heap of dejected misery..

You're the one who wanted to know where the review was - so where on this site would you expect to find a review of Gentle Giant's Octopus album?
