Well these should start to get harder and Pink Floyd and Porcupine Tree are in the house !  Not nearly their best albums though. Still i can see Floyd getting the most votes here.

What is this madness...Ske and Saturnal in the same poll?! How am I suppose to choose on this one...

Metanoia is a great listen

I was wondering how you'd vote after mentioning Saturnal on the previous poll. I thought that "Laya" album would be in the mix for you as well.Wink

This one doesn't get a lot of love but i gave it 4 stars. These are improvs from the "Signify" sessions. Wilson is quite proud of this one and it shows his love for Psychedelic / Krautrock. This is more about psychedelic soundscapes i guess you could say.

Pink era Tangerine Dream nabs it for me!  That one is great, though I don't listen to it as often as, say, Atem or Zeit.

Laya is one of the two I don't have on this list. Embarrassed Though if it's anything like the debut it would be.

The big difference is Tsuboy(not sure if i spelled that right) from KBB being part of it. So yeah he's ripping it up on his violin which gives a different dynamic for sure.

I only know More and Metanoia.  Neither is really one that I am going to reach for all that often, but of the two, More is the most likely one, since I am not all that enamored with the ambience of Metanoia.

Surprising More is just ahead of the others, maybe because it's the only one people know from this list, like me LOL.

Well not quite actually, I'm loving that Ske album.

I'm the same as you Jon, i prefer Atem and Zeit and i actually prefer the Krautrock flavoured debut even more.
This one is interesting though. Schulze and Schnitzler who played on the debut are gone. Enter Franke on drums who was with Agitation Free but before they released an album. I understand that Tangerine Dream and Agitation Free played at the Zodiac Club together a lot in the early days so they all knew each other.

No your right Floyd is much more popular so even though this record is one of their least popular it's still more well known than what's on the list here.
I went with the crazy Czechs who named themselves after a Zappa tune. Lots of alto sax which is oftern dissonant along with violin. This is all about the beat and rhythm though and these guys had a sense of humour. And they looks like freaks and i mean that in a good way.LOL  They really suffered at the hands of the communist government for defying them. heck the words from this album are taken from a Czech poet who's writings were banned as well.

I need to get that TD album, I have others from that period (early, right?) and think they're great.  Floyd and Tree are the only ones of these I've heard.  Easy vote for Floyd because I'm a huge fan of that post-Syd, pre-DSOTM period.  I just upgraded my More CD to the 2011 remaster, and I'm glad I did.

Laya is a terrific album, I think, and it got my vote.  It's one of my very favourite albums of this millenium.  I preferred it to the debut, but haven't listened to the debut in a long time..  I also don't have two albums from the list: that Popul Vuh, and that Plastic People album.  Popul Vuh is a band I've been meaning to get more from as I love the band's first few albums, and the group does rank as one of my favourites in PA based on those early albums.  I could have easily voted for Alpha Centauri too, and in fact almost did..  I love TD's first four albums dearly.  That said, the great majority of music I listen to and explore these days is not in the prog archives (albeit it has relations to music here).

Were on the same page with this one Steve. I gave it 4 stars and really enjoy the variety here. They recorded this in one week. In fact they were working on the Ummagumma album when they were approached about doing this soundtrack. So they interupted those sessions to do the soundtrack.

Lots to like on this one, although I gotta be honest and say that this was an easy vote for yours truly. Alpha Centauri is my favourite TD album alongside Atem and Force Majeure, and even among such brilliant albums, I still slightly prefer it.

Then there's that Popol Vuh album with Renate singing, and hell, even one of my fave PT releases in Metanoia! Love that one, and you can almost taste the Krautrock flavour throughout... Uhhmmm tastes like chicken. Oh yeah also: Univers Zero, Plastic People, Ske and one of the finest and most eclectic Floyd albums in More. I swear sometimes it acts as stand in for my absolute most cherished Floyd album - I actually think I listen to it more than any other from them...

Still the ultimate TD Krautrock album gets my vote:
