If you are at the capital city of Finland next Friday, be welcome for

Visual art, drama experiment and live music association Vadelma (ra) arranges a festival at Alppipuisto-park in Friday 6th July 2PM-22PM with the collaboration of associations forming The Alppipuisto’s Summer-collective. The event is aimed to all ages and members of families, providing entertainment and music ranging from rock, folk, ethnic and jazz directions, also including poetry, butoh-dance and performance arts. In addition of two stages the park has a Media-Pavilion, where film curiosities from selections of Pieni Leffakauppa-shop are broadcasted, along with the productions of open city television M2HZ and Vadelma TV. A wall for collective painting is also provided for the free use of inspiration for both children and adults. Event has also information desks for different associations, second hand item bargains and quality food sellers. Vadelma Fest in made possible by the support from City of Helsinki Cultural Office, and the event has free entrance without any ticket costs.

Vadelma Fest is held this year for the seventh time, focusing in association’s usual manner to crossover arts and diverse musical styles, the unity reaching towards the curative shamanistic primal force. Rhythmic apparitions of beautifulness are provided by experimental pop group Color Dolor, and open free jazz by Rauhan Orkesteri, which will perform on the event with a special unique line-up. Instrumental fireworks will be lit by Inner Light Orchestra, a group cherishing the legacy of progressive rock, and also preparing for the release of their debut album. Experimental voyaging-folk will be performed by a transcendental group named Lievo. The stage is also reclaimed by the sprained preacher Faarao Pirttikangas, arriving from the heart of Save with klezmerorchestra Klezmersu. The duo earlier known as Terhi & Samuel will reform themselves as Terika, continuing to cherish the charms of their own compositions and classic evergreens. Shamanistic music is conjured by ethnic fusion orchestra Aalto, combining influences from vast corners of the earth. The official Finnish Flag Day for Summer and Poetry is honored by the presence of poet J.K. Ihalainen. The festival audience is lured to the depths of Butoh-dance by group Teatteri Olemus, and performance arts are represented by Hannele Kirjavainen from Jay Walking collective. The evening of Vadelma Fest concludes to the set of hypnotic rock group Kap Kap. The event is hosted by Miia Pitkänen, and the specific performing times and additional information are found from Vadelma’s web pages www.vadelma.org

The action continues at Vadelma Fest club, which will be held at Club Liberté in 22PM-2AM. Night’s performers are missionaries of psychedelic garagerock Plain Ride, grooving rockers Sub Rosa, and electojoyful Joonas D. Feelings. Club’s visuals are created by VJ’s Valovirhee and Random Doctors. Club’s entry fee is 7€.
