Rubicon is really nice music actually. I'll check out Ricochet when I get the chance. Smile

Perhaps also Oldfiel's "Songs from Distant Earth". I don't think he presented it as a 1 song album, but the music flows almost endlessly from start to end, and it's got recurring themes throughout the album, and so on. And in the end, he is known for releasing 1 song albums.

Technically, Voyage 34 from Porcupine Tree fits in this list.

I forgot to mention "In C" by Terry Riley. Not prog, but wonderful music anyway.

You'll possibly have to take Passion Play out of this list, because on the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab version it was split into different tracks.

Incidentally, I've just reviewed a one-song-album from Rodrigo San Martin, it is simply called "1".

Totally disagree. There is nothing about that album that makes it one song. A concept album does not one song make, as Yoda wisely stated.

I mentioned it in the original post. Great modern prog symphony, probably one of my favorites.Clap

Obviously Thick as a Brick and A Passion Play, but also The Whirlwind, Tubular Bells and Ommadawn. And I found Ufomammut's Eve noisy but still enjoyable.

Although he's not on PA, Jim O'Rourke did  a one album song that is 'The Visitor'. Below is an extract that on the album starts at about the 17 minute mark.

Only a matter of time until they show up. I actually don't mind some of their stuff. Well, really just a small minority of it is good. 056 for instance, which is minimalist in terms of prog, but still quite interesting.

Yes, he tends to make huge collectors editions with five or more 1 track CDs in them. very prolific man, it must be said.

Some of Klaus Schulze's bonus tracks on new reissues of older albums are long enough to be considered a one-track album. LOL  For example, the track "But Beautiful" which is a bonus on Cyborg is almost 51 minutes long.

I'll agree that there are many albums which have been divided into tracks which work together as a cohesive whole, however there's something I find in albums which have the complete disregard for any commercial potential by making it a singular, complete work. It's like how certain songs are taken from concept albums such as Pink Floyd's The Wall, and played on the radio, it still maintains a semi-commercial aspect, whereas a true one song album requires an active, intent listener - which in turn is challenging, but if successful, more rewarding as an album because of it. That's just my view on the situation though.
