So, which is a better purchase? I'm a little unsure. My only gripe is that the the DVD of KC in 84' has little of their music from Lark's Tounge to Red (my favorite Crimson period).

You have three options for the most part...with most of your choices being on the 90's side of material. I personally prefer the new one Eyes Wide Open since there's so much on it, tons of improvs, two shows. The 80's one has some incredible performances on it too especially on Fripp's part...yet like you've noted don't expect too much pre 80's material really...

Honestly, if this is not your thing and never has been (80's ->) ...maybe you can wait for 70's material DVD's?...OR look into dling torrents of some bootleg shows?

I'd do the Torrent thing, but I it won't ever work for me. And it's not like I don't like the 80's KC and all, I really do (B'Boom did that for me), but It'd be nice to hear them from the 70's period.

If anyone knows of any 70s Crimson DVDs, that are either out or will be please let me know.

There's one great track of King Crimson with Muir on some "Zoom club" DVD, I can't recall the exact name. KC play's the beginning of Lark's Tonques in Aspic, part one (some 5minutes?). The music recorded from the event can be found on Fripp's King Crimson Collector's Club cd "live at The Zoom club 1972", one which has "the rich tapestry of life" on it.

Muir is truly a weird feature on that song!
