I don't know what has happened in this poll, but the votes for one of the albums has risen enormously since the last time I viewed this thread.

When was the last time you viewed the thread? Gaming the polls with alternate accounts is enormously difficult with the new restrictions in place, I find it hard to believe anyone would bother. There may be some other way, but I don't know how: as far as I know, PA ties your vote to your account, not cookies, so you can't go back and change it later. And even if someone did fake the results, I don't see how it really matters. Nobody actually cares about those polls, they are not intended to be scientific and secure.

I agree with your statement. But I viewed the poll yesterday when the votes were 19 against 16 or so. And then I see 112-21 on the next day. Maybe it's just a bug with some counter, but it surprises me. Maybe I should have started this thread in the "Report bugs here"-section. Edited by someone_else - August 24 2011 at 03:57 |

It's simple - the poll allows multiple votes. When I first looked at it I thought the voting figures were high and that Fish was ahead by a surprising amount. Someone has obviously given it a lot of votes. Some people are that sad,

Since my last post Olias has gained almost 200 votes. This poll is meaningless now.

It is indeed. Sad to see that some people can be that infantile. |

Oh, I didn't vote so I didn't notice that. In that case this isn't abuse (or at least abuse that should be reported to this subforum): it's jean-marie's fault for allowing multiple votes in the first place. |

Lighten up, guys. You all sounds like a bunch of arthritis suffering grumpy old men. If you put out something for a vote here, take it for granted that it will be manipulated and distorted. So enjoy the music and each others company instead of complaining about manipulations. Lighten up. |

It's ok no problem, polls are just a way to share about music with other music lovers Edited by jean-marie - August 24 2011 at 15:14 |

It was a silly poll as I think it should have run 50-50 anyway without multiple votes enabled. I dropped in on it this morning to post a comment and indulged in a little multiple voting just for fun. I do think it should have been left open though just to see where it would have ended. Squire pulled into the lead before it was shut. Now I'm left wondering which got the most multiple votes.

No, I'm just saying if the poll allows multiple votes, people shouldn't complain if people actually vote multiple times. |

Over to something totally different again: Have a look at http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=80560 I think the Saturn fraternity here is manipulating the result by getting their fellow citizens to block vote for their planet. Suspicious voting patterns, I would say. Maybe we should also even things about by inviting the other communities to vote for their planets too ? |
