i do not what is the deal with marillon
i do not find nothing amazing in their music if you want to call
them prog. i gave a lot ilstening to most of their record and the
flower king also and ai find them super boring and their musci
does not go any where, like the real 70's prog rock gigants

I will not vote in MARILLION, because for me they are not neo-prog. Maybe in the early days, or the first recordings with Fish, but this belongs to the past... The sound of the band today is a hybrid of prog, alternative and pop that is amazing, very superior to any neo-prog band...
Then, my vote go to IQ. But I have to say: The best neo-prog album is PALLAS - The Sentinel !!! (If only the others albuns of the band were good as this...)

If Porcupine Tree is considered neo-prog, they have my vote.

Pendragon
Mostly I like innovative music, and Pendragon is one of the least innovative bands I know. Still, I love their music. Most of it, anyway.
Fevourite albums:
The Jewel
Kowtow
The Rest Of Pendragon
The Window Of Life
The Masquerade Ouverture

Neo means NEW.
Anglagard is the only labled neo-progressive band that I feel is progressive at all, well they are more synfonic rock then neo I guess. Then In that case I wouldnt pick any.

The old Marillion albums are great and certainly progressive. At that time it was certainly new music they introduced. OK, the similarities with Old Genesis were there, but still it were masterpieces of the 80s.
IQ is OK and Pendragon is very nice to listen, not that progressive, but the folky voice and the Floyd-like guitarplay are good to digest.
