Topic: The ugly Google search ad on album pages Posted: December 29 2010 at 22:43 |
I made a thread about this some time ago, and I didn't get much of a response, but it's locked now so I'll try again! We still have the ugly, tacky, and pathetic "Search for Band X Lyrics" and "Search for Band X tabs", which is also immensely hypocritical considering the site's rules. It's even before the personnel information! Having Google Ads on the page is one thing, but this is as if we're some horrible lyric site that needs to throw searches everywhere to get enough revenue to scrape by. How much money does Max even make from that? Has anybody ever actually clicked it? MMA doesn't have it, (and it would even be more relevant to them) so why do we?
And there is still a text ad for fricking AC/DC tickets from Vividseats.com in the Prog Metal definition. How did it get there? Why did somebody think it was a good idea to put it there? How much are we getting for this permanent advertisement? It's ugly and horrible and none of the other genre pages have that, it looks like a Wikipedia page that has been vandalized. |
