A little "Intro to Prog" playlist I made

^Lazarus?  That's a pop song, I showed it to my friends and like it, but they can't believe I like this hehe. It's good and I like it, but I would give something like Blackest Eyes or Trains, where PT shows their great ability to fuse pop with more adventurous sensibilities.

I have already posted this list in similar threads, but I'm afraid I'm only covering 70's British Symphonic Prog... almost. It's not that I don't want to be more helpful, but I don't know enough from the rest of Prog to make a more complete list. It goes like this (and I do have this CD burned and really like to hear it).

1. Shine On You Crazy Diamond (I-V, just as it is in the Wish you were here album) - Pink Floyd.
2. The Court of the Crimson King - King Crimson.
3. Tarkus (edit, only Eruption - Stones of Years - Battlefield)- ELP.
4. And You And I - Yes.
5. Firth of Fifth - Genesis.
6. Thick as a Brick (the Live, bursting out version) - Jethro Tull.
7. Starless (the live version from Collectible King Crimson Vol 1, CD 1) - King Crimson.

I have two King Crimson songs because both lineups were very important in British Prog, and were almost completley different (except for Fripp). I think this are some of the most widely popular songs from each of this bands, which are perhaps the most representative bands from the british prog movement.

However, I do have been wanting to make a complete Prog collection of songs which includes all eras, all sub-genres, and many countries and languages. However I would need the forum's help and do several threads to accomplish it and I have been too lazy to get into it. I would have to do several Top 10 lists for favourite bands, albums, songs, etc; from different genres, and then count repeated mentions, and then do a poll to choose the top ten repetitions... etc... once this was made to find the favourite King Crimson song by another member (and the result was Starless by the way).
