The Italian Progawards site recently announced it's final nominations for various awards for 2009. Nominees 1-18 (of 53) for Best Progattitudes album of 2009 are listed above - any points of view in here for these candidates?

I think a description like "progressive approach" might be a good substitute for Progattitude ;-)

I'd say Indukti's Idmen
Sadly, I haven't heard Present's Barbaro. I'm sure it'd be my pick....

Let me be the first (and probably last) to pick one of the most unique albums of last year - Runaway Totem's Manu Menes. Especially recommended for fans of Zeuhl and RIO/Avant!

Looks like people aren't paying any attention to what the poll is actually about and are just voting for their favorite. I couldn't vote in any of them, as I've only heard a small handful, but the fact that The Incident is leading the charge by so much is kinda silly. Definitely not a highly progressive album in the sense of boundary pushing or anything. The only one I know that I would consider voting for would be Part the Second, for their interesting toyings with sound structures, musical flavors, and album financing.

Porcupine Tree over Indukti. Both top 5 for me this year.

I agree with you on this, but I'm afraid you might as well be talking to the wall (or the wind, if you preferWink)...
