Hi,
Sept. 2009 PA Featured Artist is PHIDEAUX a great Crossover Prog artist originating from the USA . The artist is promoting the downloading of all his tracks on his website http://www.bloodfish.com/hr/media.htm . 3 selected by the artist on the front page spot so you can stream them directly. Here's the short band intro, writted by the artist: PHIDEAUX is a band born of several lifelong friendships and a mutual appreciation of progressive rock. "We are refugees from a time when rock and roll was counter-cultural and have come together to mine a dark vein of music steeped with mellotrons, violins and vintage keyboards. We love power chords, tricky time signatures and intricate harmonies, but always there are melodies to be hummed and riffs to invade your mind." Visit PA's PHIDEAUX Page http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=2379 An interview is already available, made by PA's King By-Tor http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=53515 Feel free to discuss more about the band and their music here. Enjoy PHIDEAUX proggers ! An excellent artist !!! M@X |

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Great band, especially their latter 2 albums and Chupacabras.
Phideaux: get your music on Spotify! It's incredibly popular in the UK and Europe, and would be a good way to get the music out there. It's basically ad-supported streaming music and has taken Europe by storm, really. http://www.spotify.com/en/ Edited by mazza558 - September 01 2009 at 14:43 |

Good idea, I'll check it out. Although I thought it was only available abroad. I wonder if a US artist can upload?

Anyone in the world can, and most albums under big record labels (regardless of their location) are already on the service. Even better is the fact that Spotify is on the way to the USA anyway, and I'm guessing it'll have the same impact over there. |

thanks for the welcome. I've really only been "here" and posting in forums for about three months. Prior to that I was more caught up in my british television forums! Great site is this, can lose one's mind in a lot of intriguing discussion!
I hope you like the colourful illustrations! Free downloads at our website for those who may not know our musik. |

Oh yes, these illustrations are colorful, indeed!
This cover looks like a metal album! Anyway, I'll check your website. |

Do you think Metal would be that silly? hahaha, I wonder about the small rodent near the burning pile. Seems too daft for a serious metal cover. But, perhaps a metal sound is in the offing

i listened to the streaming tracks under the band entry. I don't know how to download because I am from the mid-16th century. Nonetheless what I was able to hear was very pleasant actually with a folky tinge. For some reason I couldn't help but thinking about Figgy Duff and Jethro Tull.

I am getting to know the new work and I think the music and I will become long term friends. Very refreshing soundscapes.

Awesome band! I only own Number 7 and Doomsday Afternoon, but when I see another album pop up, it's getting in my collection for sure!

PA should probably be more careful with which reviews to promote the album with.. MovingPictures' isn't exactly the most positive

I think Phideaux chose, actually. If you'll notice his signature on the forums here... there's a definite pattern.
