Three albums which were all pressed, signed, and used as frisbees before the band encountered its first masterpiece, Kid A.

Alright, some might not view Kid A as the true Deadiohead masterpiece, opting instead for the safety and warmth of the guitar heavier and more "classically" experimental Computerhead. And that's OK. It's easily the best of the three albums above, the first wholly and uniquely Radiohead sounding album, their first great effort.

Which is why I think that Computer will take this...although some folks seem to think that The Bends is one of their best (I have a friend who swears by it). While I think it's a good album, I also think that's it's not quite there yet...a little too little Radiohead, and a little too much U2 sounding (and therefore emotionally shallow and stylistically narrow, albiet very intelligent) alt album.

I have few positive visions of the future for Pablo Honey...the memory of which (aside from "Creep") I've mostly removed from my mind, but if I recally correctly, a not terribly intelligent, creative, emotional, or for that matter good, alt-grunge effort. And by effort, I mean slaughterhouse.

Okay, yeah, that pretty much sums it up.

Pablo Honey is only disregarded because Creep is kind of a weak song and because the production is really lacking. If you hear songs like "You" or "Blowout" live, you'd be really surprised at how great they sound. The writing was there (obviously not to the extent it is now), but the production definitely wasn't

Now, OK Computer wins for me, but both it and The Bends are masterpieces. I don't see the U2 comparisons unless you really can't distinguish one British vocalist from the next. The music is texturally, melodically and intellectually in a completely different league. I'm not surprised than many prog fans don't quite love The Bends because it's not so blatantly progressive or whatever, but i truly is a singular, incredible work.

Here's how I'd rate them, out of 10 using  .5 increments:

OK Computer: 10/10
The Bends: 9.5/10
Pablo Honey: 5.0/10

OK Computer is incredible, but I really enjoyed The Bends much more. "Street Spirit", "Planet Telex", and "Bullet Proof" are all excellent songs.

OK Computer is an incrdible album, it might even be my most listened album ever. The album sounds so much deeper and better than other Radiohead releases. The Bends is a much weaker album I think. I did really enjoy some of the songs on there, songs like Street Spirit and Just, but in the album the album has several weaker songs. Pablo Honey is unlike the other two albums, garbage.

Actually, Blow Out, the last song on Pablo is pretty good.  Creep, which got a lot of airplay, pretty much turned me off to the band to the point where I never took them seriously.  I might have actually gotten into OK Computer when it came out were it not for that.  I've actually warmed up to Creep.  I didn't become a fan until I saw them on this site and decided to check them out.  I started out with Pablo Honey because it was available used for dirt cheep, which might have sunk my interest in the band altogether.  Then I tried Amnesiac and was hooked. Out of the three OK is my fav.  The Bends was my last one to get before In Rainbows came out.  I rather like it, too.  Fade Out in particular off that one.

Bends and OK Computer are both fantastic albums. It's almost impossible to choose between them because they are great and differ so much from each other. If I was forced to make a choice at a gunpoint, I'd probably go for Bends... but if the gun was very close to me, I might say OK ComputerConfused

OK Computer is one of the greatest albums of the modern era and one of the most defining albums for alternative rock. I have heard Kid A for only a few times and it was nothing special, I'll have to try more. The Bends is unexpectedly amazing and Pablo Honey is mediocre at best, save for that last song.

Pablo is an interesting debut album. The Bends is simply a fantastic record, with instant classics all over it, especially Fade Out, Planet Telex, Fake Plastic Trees, and the title track. However, as a concept and as an album listened to in the whole, OK Computer easily wins this poll. They will never reach these heights again, which is why I never bother comparing new releases to it.

Going with The Bends. It's my favorite Radiohead album. I liked them better doing quirky brit-pop than their experimental side which surfaced later. Plus it has Fake Plastic Trees and who can argue with that.
